I grew up in Michigan with my five brothers and sister. I did a lot of work with chickens and pigs, helping our neighbors with their dairy cattle and cherry farm, I always knew I wanted to grow up to work with animals. I like doing anything outdoors in my free time-camping, hiking, traveling. I now live in Stuart with my fiancé and our young son. We have a Golden Retriever, Roy, and a not so little black cat, Natalie. I have been a veterinary nurse since 2009 when I completed my CVA at South Tech Academy in Boynton Beach and have had the privilege to work alongside many veterinary specialists during my career, including Criticalist, Cardiologist, Internists and Oncologists.
Heather
Front Desk & Customer Care
Heather is a receptionist with the Tequesta Veterinary Clinic and has worked here since early 2019. She holds a degree in nutrition. She is originally from Massachusetts but moved to sunny Florida to get away from the cold. She enjoys spending time with her family, which includes four grandchildren ranging in ages from 10 years old to 20 months. At one time she had five dogs, but over the years has downsized to just a miniature schnauzer named Holmes and an indoor/outdoor cat named Jefferson.
Jack
Front Desk & Customer Care
Jack and Dr Joi have been friends for many years. During the pandemic the demand for adequate staff to run the curbside model had Joi asking friends to come help out at the clinic in reception. He agreed to working weekday mornings at the clinic until curbside ended. Jack is a commercial and residential real estate agent/broker, real estate property appraiser and electrical engineer by trade. Never in a thousand years did he imagine himself working reception at veterinary hospital. It turns out quite handy having a businessman at the front desk of the vet clinic. Jack enjoyed the atmosphere and congenial staff at TVC so much that he decided to stay on even after the staffing crunch ended. He enjoys fishing at the beach and also has quite a green thumb. If you need a really good, trustworthy real estate agent, he’s the one to call. (He helped Dr. Joi buy her Florida house and the commercial building that is the vet clinic all those years ago.) His specialty is multi-family property real estate, but actively helps buyers and sellers in the residential market.
Jake

In his free time, he loves going to the gym and cooking, coming up with crazy recipes to show off to his friends and family.
Jamie

She shares her home with her husband and son and their two rescue pups, Logan and Ruca. When not at the clinic you can find her hanging with her family and enjoying the outdoors.
Samantha
Veterinary Technician
I’m a veterinary technician with a lifelong passion for animals and a heart for helping them live their happiest, healthiest lives. From an early age, I’ve been drawn to caring for and helping animals, which inspired my pursuit of a career in veterinary medicine. I’m currently a college student working toward becoming a veterinarian, with the goal of expanding my ability to make a positive impact in the lives of both pets and their owners. At home, I have two very spoiled pets — my dog, Sherlock, and my cat, Smokey — who always keep me smiling. When I’m not at work or studying, you can usually find me at the gym, relaxing at the beach with Sherlock, tidying up around the house, or spending time with my family and friends.
